GAA Gaelic Games
Hi, it is almost 2 months since you posted about GAA and related AfD on the Ireland project. I have little or no concern about the AfD in question but I just want to let you know about something you said in case you are considering GAA discussions again. You were saying that GAA being amatuer makes it all the more nessecary for strong reference. GAA is rather unique in its amatuer nature, not that people wont pay these folk to train 365 and play their hardest in the most popular sports (main school sports, football and hurling anyway) of the country. As you can imagine, the debate about wether or not to pay the countries top teamwork athletes is often on the TV. Don't be fooled, it is not bowling or pro-dominos. When you see the Republic of Ireland Football team draw with the world champions or the Munster rugby team beating the rest of Europe, remember, a lot of them aren't even playing their first choice/school game. You might think I am yanking your chain but just trying to bring you onside a bit if it helps sometime. ~ R.T.G 12:16, 17 June 2009 (UTC)
