Suspected sockpuppets

Evidence submitted by Wknight94

Obvious socks already blocked. A new (or old?) little harassment campaign against Baseball Bugs (talk · contribs) apparently trying to goad him into violating a contact restriction regarding ChildofMidnight (talk · contribs). I have no reason to think ChildofMidnight himself (herself?) is actually involved. Are there sleeper socks to be blocked? An underlying IP or range to block? Any other way to stop this? Thanks. BTW, Childof12AM's contributions were trapped in an unrelated abuse filter so remember to check that log... Wknight94 14:16, 11 August 2009 (UTC)
Odd - another harassment account, M599999ty (talk · contribs), fell into the same abuse filter and I blocked that as well - except that one was trying to harass Georgewilliamherbert (talk · contribs). No idea if it's related or not but probably worth checking as well. Strange coincidence that the same rarely-triggered filter gets triggered twice in such a short time. And more than one created dummy user and user talk pages to cover the scent (since deleted). Wknight94 15:03, 11 August 2009 (UTC)

Conclusions

I checked this earlier, after a request on my talk page:

  • It's  Likely that Childof12AM = BBBfan. I also found an older impersonation account (BO2ip01) on one of BBBfan's IPs. I've blocked that account.
  • Based on technical evidence, M599999ty appears to be Red X Unrelated --Versageek 15:14, 11 August 2009 (UTC)
