Jeffrei Allan Chan (born February 11, 1983 in Bacolod City, Negros Occidental, Philippines) is a Filipino professional basketball player in the Philippine Basketball Association who currently plays for the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters. He was drafted seventeenth overall by Barako Bull in 2008.
Player Profile
Chan played for the Far Eastern University Tamaraws and averaged 18.6 points per game, 4.8 rebounds per game, and 3.0 assists per game in his seniors. He grew up mostly in Bacolod City playing for University of St. La Salle. Chan started playing since grade school were he became a passionate student of the game. Since then, he was playing basketball for the school, competing in numerous tournaments and giving titles to his school.
He was once a member of a champion team in the ADIDAS Streetball Challenge in Western Visayas. During his High School years in USLS, Chan played numerous leagues in the Bacolod City, and was also chosen to be one of the players for Western Visayas to play in the Palarong Pambansa. Jeff Chan then got many offers from different schools in Manila. He joined the San Beda College training camp but before school started, Chan returned to play with the University of St. La Salle. He spent one last year in his school, then moved to Far Eastern University to play for the team.
In the PBA, after the departure of Cyrus Baguio from the Barako Bull Energy Boosters, Chan became one of the go-to-guys of the team.
In 2009, he was traded to the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters.
