Some of these conflicts were pontual, while others lasted for many years. Most of these wars were in the Indian Ocean, in the process of the expansion of the Portuguese Empire.
The different wars were the following:
- Turkish-Portuguese War (1509)
- Conquest of Tunis (1535)
- Turkish-Portuguese War (1538–1557)
- Turkish-Portuguese War (1558–1566)
- Turkish-Portuguese War (1580–1589)
- Turkish-Venetian War (1714–1718)
