Alan D. Levitt
-born 2/1/1946 in Rochester NY.
Mr. Levitt attended Pharmacy school in Buffalo NY graduating in 1968. after 3 years in the USAF, he traveled around the USA winding up in Jamestown NY. In 1962 the only pharmacist in the village of Sherman NY died and the people of Sherman began to look for a Pharmacist to re-open Sherman Pharmacy. In 1973 Sherman NY found Mr. Levitt and he re-opened Sherman Pharmacy, a Pharmacy that had been in business for almost 100 years. in 1984 Mr. Levitt sold Sherman Pharmacy and moved to Brooklyn NY where he now lives. However, in 1984 he donated 371 items from Sherman Pharmacy to the Smithsonian Institution, called the "Levitt Collection". Mr. Levitt is also an active participant in the Books for Israel Project". He mails books collected in the USA to worthy schools in Israel.
