The people of Canada, or simply Canadians (fr. peuples du Canada, les Canadiens), are citizens of Canada. Canada is a multi-ethnic nation, home to people of different ethnic and national backgrounds. As a result, some Canadians don't take their nationality as an ethnicity, but identify themselves with both their nationality and their ancestral origins. Aside from the indigenous Aboriginal peoples in Canada, nearly all Canadians or their ancestors immigrated within the past five centuries.
There is a great diversity of ethnic groups among Canadians, coming from all continents, except for Antarctica.
