The term finishing school is a school that in some sense completes an educational experience. The term is mostly used for a one or two year educational program for young women, usually following completion of secondary school.

The finishing school in the above sense focuses on developing a range of academic and social skills. This typically includes subjects such as languages and communication, interpersonal and social skills as well as home management, child care and cooking skills.
