He is the lead singer in the Croatian band Thompson. He uses the band's name as a nickname. His songs are coloured by Croatian nationalistic sentiments, whose origins are from World War II.
Croatian journalist Matija Babić brought Perković's performance of a modified version of the song Jasenovac i Gradiška Stara to widespread public attention, in which Perković pays tribute to Ustaša figureheads and their deeds.
Perković has written many songs for other singers, for example: Mate Bulić.
