Omar S. Amanat is a businessman and entrepreneur who founded several financial technology companies including Tradescape, a brokerage and technology firm that is reported to have processed 7% of NASDAQ's daily trading volume, and was named one of the "Top 100 Companies in the United States" by the Red Herring magazine in 2001. E*Trade acquired Tradescape for $96.2 million.


He is also an Executive Producer of films including the Academy Award nominated The Visitor, George Clooney's documentary about the Darfur genocide entitled Darfur Now, Smart People starring Sarah Jessica Parker and Dennis Quaid, and The Mysteries of Pittsburgh starring Sienna Miller and Nick Nolte.
