Omar S. Amanat is a businessman who founded day-trading firm Tradescape. that is reported to have processed 7% of NASDAQ's daily trading volume, and was named one of the "Top 100 Companies in the United States" by the Red Herring magazine in 2001. E*Trade acquired Tradescape for an amount that was initially agreed to for $276.2 million in total consideration including $96.2 million in initial consideration plus $180 million in contingent consideration but ended up being disputed by both parties.
