The B1156 runs for about 5.3 miles (8.5 km) from the North Norfolk Village of Blakeney to the North Norfolk village of Sharrington.
It is a useful conduit between the A148 Kings Lynn to Cromer road and the A149 coast road to the north, passing near its mid point through the village of Langham.
