In response to the message you left on my page I have begun looking into matter. Gamaliel does seem to be involved in a number of edit wars and his manner of dealing with certain anonymous users is interesting. There is a huge paper trail associated with this mess which I will have to wade though before I can respond.
Also, I see that you filed an RFC against Gamaliel. Since you are fairly new I will remind you of the following: :In order to remain listed at Misplaced Pages:Requests for comment, at least two people need to show that they tried to resolve a dispute with this user and have failed. This must involve the same dispute, not different disputes. The persons complaining must provide evidence of their efforts, and each of them must certify it by signing this page with ~~~~. If this does not happen within 48 hours of the creation of this dispute page (which was: 22:42, 29 July 2005 (UTC)), the page will be deleted. So you will need someone to support you or it will be deleted. And that may be for the best. Gamaliel is now discussing the Joe Scarborough situation at Talk:Joe Scarborough so the issue may be resolving itself.--Heathcliff 23:18, 29 July 2005 (UTC)
You claim you are acting on behalf of consensus but this is simply not true. Please read and participate in the talk page discussion instead of claiming that the consensus is what you want it to be. Gamaliel 18:00, 11 August 2005 (UTC)
Block
You have been blocked for 24 hours for leaving vulgar personal attacks on my user talk page and that of User:Ruy Lopez. I see from your edit history that this isn't the first time you've left such nasty messages. Perhaps now you will get the hint that they are inappropriate. Gamaliel 19:04, 11 August 2005 (UTC)
Reverts
Please be aware of and adhere to Misplaced Pages:Three revert rule. Gamaliel 16:42, 14 August 2005 (UTC)
my talk page
I told you to stay off my talk page unless you have something constructive to say. Post that same comment for a fourth time and you get blocked for vandalism. Gamaliel 17:54, 14 August 2005 (UTC)
Vandalism of Talk:Joe Scarborough
I've blocked you again for your vandalism of this page, specifically removing votes by Sterling Newberry and Calton. Your past behavior on this page - like inserting comments about "smearing feces" on people who vote in a way you disagree with - leaves no doubt that this was not accidental. Gamaliel 16:14, 15 August 2005 (UTC)
Block
This bit of vandalism has gotten you a third block. Gamaliel 21:08, 17 August 2005 (UTC)
- It wasn't vandalism, its the truth. How long is this block for?
- 72 hours. The blocks get larger each time you vandalize Misplaced Pages. Gamaliel 21:18, 17 August 2005 (UTC)
Page protection
I have protected this page as you have been removing messages and using it as a forum for insults. Gamaliel 21:23, 17 August 2005 (UTC)
I am also extending your block due to your continuing violation of Misplaced Pages policies. Gamaliel 21:37, 17 August 2005 (UTC)
I'm going to unblock your user talk page now. Please play nicely or you will be blocked again. This means no personal attacks, no misleading edit summaries, no changing other people's comments on the talk page, or anything else remotely annoying. Gamaliel 19:03, 26 August 2005 (UTC)
You've been blocked again for your personal attacks and disruption. Gamaliel 23:11, 26 August 2005 (UTC)
Uptown girl
What Gamaliel fail's to realize is the fact that "Uptown Girl" is a Billy Joel song. 67.18.109.218 22:32, 26 August 2005 (UTC)
Block warning
Er, is trolling user pages and making personal attacks and hiding the warning messages on your talk page the only kind of edit you're here to make? None of those help build an encyclopedia, they hinder it. Make one more like that and I'll block you. Bishonen | talk 19:42, 10 September 2005 (UTC)
Not Stirling Newberry
I am not Stirling Newberry. I don't appreciate the "sockpuppet" accusation and editing of my User page. Don't do it again. --AStanhope 17:21, 14 September 2005 (UTC)
Do not blank pages
Please stop removing content from Misplaced Pages that people have worked hard to create. It is considered vandalism. If you want to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Hall Monitor 17:12, 14 October 2005 (UTC)
Anonymous editor talk pages
If you would like to have user and talk pages of your own, I recommend strongly getting a Misplaced Pages user name and account. It's free and it's easy; just click the Log In/Create Account button up in the top right of your screen.
Because there isn't a single specific editor associated with a given IP address, you don't enjoy the same privileges with respect to erasing talk page messages here. TenOfAllTrades(talk) 00:32, 15 October 2005 (UTC)
Urging you to get a username
Please, consider getting a username. It's extremely easy, and requires neither cash nor an email address. You can go to Special:Userlogin to set one up right now.
Other editors tend to be more willing to cooperate with someone who isn't hidden by the anonymity of an IP address, and you will enjoy a much greater degree of control over your User and User Talk pages. TenOfAllTrades(talk) 00:43, 15 October 2005 (UTC)
Page protection
Bishonen has protected this page because it appears that you (67.18.109.218) were involved in a revert war with several other editors. Temporarily protecting a page from editing is one tool that Misplaced Pages administrators may use to try to cool off an edit war; it gives all involved parties some time to calm down and think. (I strongly recommend that you to listen to what Bishonen has said to you, as well. Bish is a longtime contributor and admin on Misplaced Pages, with generally sound judgement and grasp of policy.)
If you would like to have a freer hand to edit user and talk space that is much more your own, I can only reiterate my encouragement for you to establish your own account instead of editing anonymously. Anonymous IP talk and user pages are generally considered community property, and not the private space of a single editor. Because many real life people may share an IP address–knowingly or not–removing comments from these shared talk pages can be very confusing.
I would also suggest that you take some time to review Misplaced Pages's policies on civility and personal attacks, as well as our restrictions on reverting pages. TenOfAllTrades(talk) 01:17, 15 October 2005 (UTC)
Block
Blocked for a week for vandalism of User pages. I think that a perma-block might be needed in the end. --Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 16:15, 16 October 2005 (UTC)
This is the discussion page for an IP user, identified by the user's IP address. Many IP addresses change periodically, and are often shared by several users. If you are an IP user, you may create an account or log in to avoid future confusion with other IP users. Registering also hides your IP address. |
