Qiyamah
Hi, freestyle. Thanks for your message. I think you're talking about Islamic eschatology rather than the Qiyamah article (which I don't think I've edited). I don't necessarily disagree with you since Islam has a very different conception of Jesus. However, from the Islamic viewpoint Jesus was a Muslim (like all other Biblical figures) and as such, it doesn't make too much of a difference which name is used since "Isa" does not refer to a different person or even a different interpretation of that person. It's just the Arabic form, as Yeshua is the Hebrew/Aramaic. I think it makes it unnecessarily complex and potentially misleads the average reader if we use "Allah" and "Isa" and so on because it lends plausibility to the idea that Allah is not just Arabic for God, but an entirely different deity altogether. Islam is already so incredibly complex for the average reader (who is non-Muslim), that I think we should keep things such as naming conventions and so forth in line with familiar Western conventions so as to help in reducing confusion.
Of course, we could debate this endlessly but that's my perspective and what I suggest. If other editors disagree, I have no problems with maintaining the Arabic conventions of God, Jesus, etc. But it's like the issue of Zoroaster vs. Zarthosht, or Darius vs Dariush, to use Persian examples - which would the average English reader be most familiar with, and would be better to use to help alleviate confusion and ignorance?

Recognition of TRNC
I saw in your edit summary that Bangladesh recognizes TRNC. I had never heard of this before. It's not necessary, but if possible, could you provide a link that shows their recognition? Thanks. freestylefrappe 21:54, 16 January 2006 (UTC)
