Omar S. Amanat is a Muslim-American businessman who once headed a day-trading technology company called Tradescape which was later sold to E*Trade in a deal that involved a flurry of litigation between E*Trade and Amanat soon after the deal closed. Subsequently, Amanat went into the film industry as a financier.
