American Accrediting Association of Theological Institutions, (AAATI), is an unlicensed accredition group with an unknown board since the late 1980s. They lack the approval of US Department of Education. The group is considered an accredition mill (see diploma mill) because they will appove accredition for $100. They are described by Steve Levicoff as an meaningless accreditation mill to award religious schools approval on the basis of exploiting the division between church and state to offer degrees and avoid breaking the law. The agency is based in Rocky Mount, NC.
