Welcome

Hello and welcome to Misplaced Pages!

Just a few quick tips:

  • Our Tutorial explains how to edit; you can experiment in the test area.
  • We have help pages, and if they don't help (can happen :-), post a question at the Help Desk.
  • Remember that we strive to have unbiased articles.
  • Eventually, you might want to read our Manual of Style and Policies and Guidelines.
  • Use the "Preview" button below the edit box! It helps you catch layout, format, and spelling errors before saving.
  • To sign your messages (to talk pages, for instance—like I do below), add four tildes (~~~~) to your posts. The software will replace them by your signature and a time stamp when you save the page.

Anyway, have fun improving this encyclopedia! Lupo 12:50, September 9, 2005 (UTC)

Madonna

Please do not continue editing Madonna, Sorry. This song does not at all sample CYFI. Her producer only said that they listened to Jackson 5 etc for inspiration. The only sample on Madonna's new album is ABBA's "Gimmie gimmie gimmie" In "Hung Up" Please do not make these accusations again or legal action will be implemented. We can also confirm there are no samples what so ever in Material girl. Especially not "Can you feel it"! 203.11.81.235 22:33, 19 January 2006 (UTC)

I've explained all this in the talk page of the Sorry (Madonna song) article. Take your comments and threats there. Street walker 23:51, 19 January 2006 (UTC)

Thriller 60 million

If official means coming from the main source than when Michael Jackson says that it has sold close to 60 million on his documentary "Michael Jackson's Home Movies" which aired on Fox in 2003, and on his website www.mjjsource.com which is sold 59 million and this was 3 years ago then the estimate in 60 million. You should know this as a MJ fan, Street walker. If that does help go to www.mjinf.co.uk and they will explain it. 69.105.58.255 23:43, 15 January 2006 (UTC)

I say 54 million is the better sales figure to go with because that is the latest official sales figure released by SME. Even if it was 1997, we should still use that one. By now, it seems very likely that Thriller has sold 60 million, but that's just a guess. Anyway, Michael doesn't even know the tracks that were put on each album, or when they were released (which was evident in the court depositions in 1991 when he said Bad was released in 1986 and had 14 tracks), so he's not really qualified to give us an offical sales figure for Thriller, and www.mjjsource.com is shut down so we can't use that as a source. If I change it to 54 million, it will be reverted back to 60 million, so you win, I will keep it at 60 million. Street walker 16:28, 19 January 2006 (UTC)

Ciara

Hello, and welcome to Misplaced Pages! We welcome and appreciate your contributions, such as Ciara, but we regretfully cannot accept original research. Please find and add a reliable citation to your recent edit so we can verify your work. Uncited information may be removed at any time. Thanks for your efforts, and happy editing! --Yamla 14:01, 17 January 2006 (UTC)

Thank you! I really appreciate the time you took to add the citation to the Ciara article. --Yamla 03:56, 18 January 2006 (UTC)

POV

POV IS not permitted on articles. Do not add pov or text that has no source. Mike 13:23, 19 January 2006 (UTC)

"If I told the police anything, I've long forgotten what it was I told them" is fine, but "common sense" has no place, has to be factual you know that Mike 13:36, 19 January 2006 (UTC)

Living people category

Hi, why are you removing the living people category from Michael Jackson? Talrias (t | e | c) 14:52, 19 January 2006 (UTC)

Hi, I noticed Misplaced Pages:Articles for deletion/Living person. First, categories are nominated for deletion on WP:CSD. Second, this category was created by Jimbo and Danny in preparation for a future drive to improve the quality specifically on biographical articles. I'm not sure if there's been an announcement or discussion on the wiki yet, but if you like I can direct you there when I find one (I'm looking). Cheers! Demi /C 15:00, 19 January 2006 (UTC)

Go to bed!

Vandalism and POV

Regarding this edit http://en.wikipedia.org/search/?title=Diane_Dimond&diff=35932583&oldid=28847430 . I see from the previous talk page of yours which you have blanked, which incidentally is considered vandalsim, that you have been repeatedly warned about inserting POV into your edits. You have done it again, with this edit. Please stop. Funky Monkey 03:26, 21 January 2006 (UTC)

Oh, I have a source. I'll put the source in the article. I didn't realise you couldn't delete old messages. Maybe I'll archive them instead. Street walker 04:24, 21 January 2006 (UTC)

I see whats you've done and considering you have a userpage basically dedicated to Michael Jackson it is inapropriate and the source is find but the wording "dismal" is pov. Mike 04:26, 21 January 2006 (UTC)

Come and vote your mind

Dear Christian friend,

I saw you on the list of Christian Wikipedians and wanted to let you know about something. The other day, someone nominated 12 Christian biography entries for deletion! They include a Christian university list of people (not unlike 68 other lists like it), presidents of universities, and authors of many books.

Since that time, people have been voting. Please take this message as a call to vote; not a call to vote a certain way. I respect you and your ability to come, read the entry, and make a wise decision. In other words, I’m not vote stacking or campaigning; simply letting you know something that you’d probably like to know.

By the way, my friend recently started an organization called Wiki4Christ. If you’d like to join a network of Christians with a purpose on Misplaced Pages, please see the site!

Below are some of the links that need attention. Thanks for your consideration.
