Peter Rees (born 1966) is a film and television writer/ director and producer. He developed the concept and was the executive producer of the television series MythBusters. Rees created, cast, wrote and directed more than eighty episodes, devising and designing all but one experiment. During his time as Executive Producer the series achieved it's highest rated individual episode (Straw through a palm tree), it's highest rated two hour special (Hollywood Movie Myths) and the highest rated shark week special (Shark week 2005). Rees left the show in September 2006 at the peak of its rating success following creative and financial disagreements with the key cast and production company.
