Traditions

Alma Mater (To Dear Old Johnstown High)

In the shadow of the mountain/ With the stream meandering by/ rises glorious Johnstown High School/ O'er surroundings towering high/

CHORUS: Raise your voices, waft the echoes/ Thru the valleys' far away/ Hoist the black and pale blue banner/ With our praises let it sway/

From thy chapel in the morning/ Where thy Maker's help is sought/ To the end of every session/ Truth and steadfastness are taught/

CHORUS

In athletics as in studies/ Mingles honor of thy name/ Which spurs our men to victory/ And makes them known to fame/

CHORUS

So to thee our inspiration/ Lift we this, our song of praise / While to thy most faithful guidance/ We Will trust our future days/

CHORUS

Fight song

Trojan Power/ Going strong/ Out in Front/ Where we belong/ Push for victory/ Bring success/ We're the finest,/ We're the best/ So come on Trojans*/ Win this game/ Bring us forture/ Bring us fame / Our men of Troy / Will meet the test/ Johnstown High School / is the Best/

  • This line is not consistent. The Website has it Published as "So fight on Johnstown," but at the football games where it is played by the marching band when the football team scores a touchdown, you hear the crowd sing the line printed on this website.

The cadence is also very famous among The locals and features the entire percussion section playing a very danceable beat.
