It is the headquarter of Orumba North local government area of Anambra State. Its geographic coordinates are 6" 02' 46 North, 7" 12' 36 East.
Its neighbours are Ufuma, Akpu, Nawfija, Umuogem, Ndiokparaeke, Ndiokpareze, Ndiowu, Ndikelionwu, Awa and Ndioji. Ajalli is know and called a citadel of learning due to the early embrace of western education. This was made possible by the early colonial administrators who choose Ajalli as their administrative headquarter thereby establishing the first primary school in the area known as AJALLI GOVERNMENT SCHOOL in 1911. Other establishments like Ajalli Post Office was built and commissioned in 1909 and a court in 1908. The town can boost of so many educated people and has contributed immensely by offering primary education for many children from the listed neighbours and beyond.Its four villages are Umueve, Obinikpa, Umuabiama and Amagu..
