I would like rollback to use huggle for vandalism fighting. Most of my work in this sphere revolves around new page patrol as the on-web tools for anti-vandalism have proved clunky for me to use. I have contributed for three years with much of that work being in the project space with strong work on new page patrol and anti-vandalism Torchwood Who? (talk) 21:59, 22 August 2010 (UTC)

I have been doing a little of anti vandalism work since i started on wikipedia i started with twinkle a few days ago before that i would manually undo vandalism. I would like to have rollback available to me and i have read the entire page on it. Inka 888 (talk) 19:44, 22 August 2010 (UTC)
Not done. You have little to no recent experience fighting real vandalism here on Misplaced Pages. If you want the rollback tool, show us that you need it! Go to Special:RecentChanges and make 50 or so vandalism reverts, either with the undo function, or the userscript, Twinkle. One you have done that, come back and request the tool again. -FASTILY 20:14, 22 August 2010 (UTC)

User:Látches

I was granted reviewer rights and the admin said I should request rollback rights. I think I would use the tool well. Látches (talk) 09:11, 22 August 2010 (UTC)
Comment from non-admin: The user made 94 edits in total, including 28 edits in the article namespace. In those 28 edits, it looks like he's made about 22 reverts. Admins normally ask for 50 reverts before granting rollback rights. In my opinion, the user should revert some more vandalism, and then file another request. —Waterfox (talk) 13:39, 22 August 2010 (UTC)
Ok, I will revert some more but Fastily did recommend. But I guess it helps. Látches 16:15, 22 August 2010 (UTC)
Not done I'd like to see more experience and please make sure you warn all the vandals you revert. You might like to look at Twinkle or WP:STiki for a faster means of reverting and warning. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 16:20, 22 August 2010 (UTC)

User:Rockoprem

I have been vehemently involved in anti-vandalism activities off-late. I particularly deal with India-related articles and stubs, which are often created for promotional purposes. Acquiring rollback rights would be advantageous in dealing with promotional-stubs and my struggle against vandalism! I also strongly believe in what this man once famously quoted. I have 23,811 edits and perhaps 5% of those are vandalism related - fighting against vandalism I would hope. I would say some of the most tricky 'vandalism' I come across is where an IP has tried to be productive but actually made things worse by misunderstanding how Misplaced Pages works, often trying to undo their mistake they often makes things worse. Anyway I'm rambling here, I use twinkle but I believe this is meant to be quicker so I would like permission to use it. EchetusXe 19:21, 21 August 2010 (UTC)

Regular contributor, been working on more anti-vandalism as of recent and I am enjoying it. I'm sure I've had at least 50 edits against vandalism, I have read over all the policy and procedure for using rollback, but mainly, I am tired of getting beaten to the punch for reverts to vandalism! Theornamentalist (talk) 14:15, 18 August 2010 (UTC)
Not done for now. You've made a good number of reverts recently, but I'd like to see a bit more experience and you should warn the vandals that you revert. You might like to try STiki or Twinkle either to just help you with warning vandals or for a faster reverting method. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 14:59, 18 August 2010 (UTC)

User:Meishern

Hi. I've been editing/writing original content for the past 16 months with 1300+ edits. I have 4 decent original articles that I wrote (please see my main page for titles), as well as about 1/2 dozen other articles that I completely rewrote. I am constantly clicking undo to change vandalism by some IP. I was never punished for provoking an edit war, abusing another editor, reverting someone more than once without consensus or causing problems despite daily edits regarding controversial topics. I look for consensus, compromise and stay away from articles where I know my POV may cloud my judgment. I have an IP block exemption for over 1 year, and it was never abused. I currently review articles for GA with no complaints. In conclusion, I am trustworthy person who edits often, have many pages on my watchlist, and would like to have a faster method of removing blatant vandalism. Several thousand edits, lots of vandal fighting. Had rollback, lost it in a block but that was several months ago. Have been able to do a lot without it but increasingly I'm coming up to things like this where rollback would help so much. - Schrandit (talk) 04:28, 4 September 2010 (UTC)
Question: Could you please elaborate on the blocks for edit warring in your block log? -FASTILY 05:32, 4 September 2010 (UTC)
Sure thing. #1 was nearly 2 years ago, while dealing with a sockpuppet I wasn't keeping track of the edit count and made 4 reversions inside a 24 hour period. Didn't make that mistake again. #2 I saw controversial material being inserted into an article and reverted it. Apparently that had been batted back and forth a lot, mine was something like the 8th in a series of reversions and an admin blocked all of us. I should have looked more closely at the edit history. #3 An anon was inserting questionable information on a BLP against consensus, I thought this was so odious I reverted these insertions (more than 4 times). The blocking admin correctly pointed out that I should have just taken the matter to AIV and let them sort it out.
In terms of community standing I've kept my nose clean since then and have been granted reviewer rights in the meantime. - Schrandit (talk) 05:50, 4 September 2010 (UTC)
I'm willing to give you a second chance, but I have a couple questions: 1) Do you promise to use rollback only for blatantly disruptive edits, and not for edit-warring and content disputes (even when you believe you are in the right, as with the most recent block)? 2) Will you be more diligent in warning vandals after reverting them? Dabomb87 (talk) 14:25, 4 September 2010 (UTC)
These are reasonable concerns. You have my word. - Schrandit (talk) 20:38, 4 September 2010 (UTC)

User:Kevinbrogers

Have been heavily involved in the television area of Misplaced Pages for quite awhile now. There is quite a bit of vandalism there. Many times, a vandal (whether in good faith or not) will use 5 or more edits to make a simple change, and it is quite tedious to go through and fix it. A quick glance at my talk page will reveal a lot of problems created by myself in the past, but I have since come to understand Misplaced Pages better, and promise nothing like that will ever happen again. I won't abuse this privilege if given to me. Thank you for your consideration. Kevinbrogers (talk) 19:42, 4 September 2010 (UTC)

Reason for requesting rollback WookieInHeat (talk) 16:01, 5 September 2010 (UTC)

Hello, I've recently started using Lupin's Anti-vandal tool and hence am now coming across edits such as the vandalism at Eggert Magnusson which cannot be easily reverted with lupin or on site tools. so i am requesting rollback rights as it is inconvenient trying to find a rollback user or admin every time. cheers WookieInHeat (talk) 16:01, 5 September 2010 (UTC)

Not done I see plenty of reverts, but you don't seem to be warning the vandals you report. Warning them is almost as important as the reverting itself—it informs misguided editors that what they're doing is wrong and it helps to keep track of the more prolific vandals. I don't know if Lupin has a warning function, if not then you might like to use Twinkle to warn them or copy the templates from here. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 16:40, 5 September 2010 (UTC)
understood, i'm still fairly new to this so i'm not fully familiar with proper procedure. lupin doesn't have a warning feature, i'll look into twinkle. WookieInHeat (talk) 16:43, 5 September 2010 (UTC)

User:Harout72

I'd like to gain access to the rollback-features as it may make things somewhat easier per Misplaced Pages:Rollback feature when spotting an edit that needs an immediate reversion. I constantly monitor huge number of articles all of which, unfortunately, require reversions at one point. Harout72 (talk) 16:34, 5 September 2010 (UTC)
Not done I don't see any reverts of vandalism in your last 500 edits. I see several reverts, but none where rollback could legitimately be used. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 16:58, 5 September 2010 (UTC)
Well, in my last 500 edits there seems to be several reversions that I think could have been made with help of Rollback-features, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7. There seems to be more.--Harout72 (talk) 17:22, 5 September 2010 (UTC)
Of those, the only one for which rollback would have been suitable is number 5. The rest all appear to be unsourced changes to statistics which should be reverted, but are not vandalism unless they're done in a deliberate attempt to to make an article inaccurate, but 9 times out of 10, they're simply not aware of verifiability policy. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 19:24, 5 September 2010 (UTC)
You may wish to use the Twinkle tool, which adds a "slower rollback" button with the option of custom edit summaries for your reverts. Dabomb87 (talk) 20:46, 5 September 2010 (UTC)

I need to revert some edits by unregistered IPs, such as on List of Korean musicians...Most of them do not take participate in any discussions and make near ten-twenty edits (without explanation) since they are unaware of features like preview and sandboxes. Since, we are not allowed to revert more than three edits per day, it can make things difficult for me in maintaining the criteria of the lists. Most unregistered IPs do not even see the already discussed criteria (discussed on talk pages) for addition to lists. Farjad0322 21:17, 5 September 2010 (UTC)
