Christopher Kelly (born 1978), known as Chris Kelly, is a Conservative Party politician in England. He is the Member of Parliament (MP) for the Dudley South constituency in the West Midlands of England. He was elected to parliament at the 2010 general election, in the seat which was previously been occupied by Labour's Ian Pearson for 13 years. He is a member of the European Scrutiny Committee.

Education

Kelly was educated at Wolverhampton Grammar School, an independent school in the city of Wolverhampton in the Black Country in the West Midlands, from 1989 to 1996, followed by Oxford Brookes University, where he was a History and Politics student, from 1996 to 1999, and Imperial College Business School in 2002/3 where he gained an MBA.

Life and career

Kelly has held numerous positions in sales, marketing and business development in his family firm, Keltruck Ltd - a Scania truck dealership in the Midlands headquartered in West Bromwich in the Black Country - culminating in the position of marketing director for three years from 2006 to 2009. He is presently a non-executive director of the company.

After business school Kelly worked as research assistant for the Rt. Hon. Lord Howard of Lympne QC in 2004/5 whilst he was Leader of the Conservative Party.
