On November 7, 2006, four-term incumbent Democratic U.S. Senator Herb Kohl was re-elected to his fourth consecutive six-year term against Robert Lorge receiving 67.3% of the vote in the United States Senate election in Wisconsin, 2006.
Kohl has not announced whether or not he will run for his fifth term. His lack of fundraising might be a sign of his retirement. Kohl also might decide to retire due to his colleague Russ Feingold's loss for his re-election bid.
