Ajalli (pronounced as Ujalli by the natives), is an Igbo speaking town in south eastern Nigeria. It is the headquarter of Orumba North local government area of Anambra State. Its geographic coordinates are 6" 02' 46 North, 7" 12' 36 East.

Its neighbours are Ufuma, Akpu, Nawfija, Umuogem, Ndiokparaeke, Ndiokpareze, Ndiowu, Ndikelionwu, Awa and Ndioji. Ajalli is regarded as a citadel of learning due to the early embrace of western education. This was made possible by the early colonial administrators who chose Ajalli as their administrative headquarters thereby establishing the first primary school in the area known as Ajalli Government School in 1911. Other establishments like Ajalli Post Office was built and commissioned in 1909 and a court in 1908. The town boasts several well educated people and has contributed immensely by offering primary education for many children from the listed neighbours and beyond. Its four villages are Umueve, Obinikpa, Umuabiama and Amagu.

References

Ndiowu is also a neighbouring town to Ajalli. It was omiited, I believe, in error. It should be included.
