Why a red user name font?

I am somewhat new to Misplaced Pages and wonder why my user name is red in the history menu, when other names are blue. Can you help?Goldenwinds (talk) 00:13, 1 December 2010 (UTC)

Where? Have you refreshed the page? ǝɥʇM0N0 01:09, 1 December 2010 (UTC)
If refreshing doesn't work, try purging the page or bypassing your cache. ~NerdyScienceDude 03:00, 1 December 2010 (UTC)

November 2010 Backlog Elimination Drive Conclusion

Greetings from the Guild of Copy Editors Backlog Elimination Drive!

We have reached the end of our fourth backlog elimination drive. Thanks to all who participated.

Stats

GOCE November 2010 backlog elimination drive graphs
  • 58 people signed up for this drive. Of these, 48 people participated in the drive.
  • Although we did not eliminate the months we planned to (January, February, and March 2009; and August, September, and October 2010), we did reduce the backlog by 627 articles (11.2%), which was over our goal of 10%.
  • 49 awards will go out to 33 of 48 participants. Check out the complete list of barnstar winners here.

Barnstars

If you copy edited at least 4,000 words, you qualify for a barnstar. If you participated in the September 2010 backlog elimination drive, you may have earned roll-over words (more details can be found here). These roll-over words count as credit towards earning barnstars, except for leaderboard awards. We will be delivering these barnstars within the next couple of weeks.

Our next drive is scheduled for January 2011. In the meantime, please consider helping out at the Wikification drive or any of the other places where help with backlogs is needed.

Thank you for participating in the last 2010 backlog elimination drive! We look forward to seeing you in January!

Wasn't sure on the language. Wasn't trying to be a vandal. It is referenced that she is crazy, though. — Preceding unsigned comment added by IKanHazMonkeyz (talkcontribs) 20:59, 8 December 2010 (UTC)

Jason Ratcliff

Could you possibly find something for DYK in this new article? --Nascar1996 03:26, 9 December 2010 (UTC)

I've nominated it at T:TDYK#Jason Ratcliff. ~NerdyScienceDude 20:20, 9 December 2010 (UTC)
Thanks, one day I plan to post my own nominations; I've been trying to fingure one out. The red looks nice in your new signature. Also, because of it, I see you are ready for the holidays. :) Nascar1996 20:25, 9 December 2010 (UTC)
Yes, that is my holiday signature. :) It will return to normal in January. ~NerdyScienceDude 20:38, 9 December 2010 (UTC)
I'm not going to change my signature. I like it how it is. The red will turn into pink one month later. Also, what do you think I should add to the background section of 2011 Daytona 500 when the time comes? (Maybe quotes from media day, some preseason testing results, etc) Nascar1996 20:42, 9 December 2010 (UTC)
Quotes from the media could be a good thing to add. I'm not sure what else to include. I'm sure we'll find something when the day of the race gets closer. ~NerdyScienceDude 20:48, 9 December 2010 (UTC)
We should be able to find others. I'm Happy that I have a break from expanding race articles until Daytona. However, there are some that I would like to complete. Nascar1996 20:53, 9 December 2010 (UTC)

New script

I'm just suggesting a new script that can make different kinds of tables. Thanks! Perseus (tc) 15:53, 10 December 2010 (UTC)

Are you referring to a tool that can add tables to articles? If that's what you were suggesting, then the edit toobar can do that. Click on the insert table button () and the table wizard will appear. You can specify the number of rows, number of columns, add a header row, add borders, and even make the new table sortable. An example:
Element Chemical symbol Atomic number
Hydrogen H 1
Helium He 2
Lithium Li 3
Beryllium Be 4
The contents of the table will need to be manually added in. ~NerdyScienceDude 20:50, 10 December 2010 (UTC)

Need hidden comment tool

Please help. Lack of hidden comment tool drives me crazy. Also, am computer stupid, so please hold my hand if you point me off to download something.TCO (talk) 00:12, 14 December 2010 (UTC)

You have come to the right place. I created a script that adds additional buttons to the toolbar, including a hidden comment one. See this page for more information. ~NerdyScienceDude 20:22, 14 December 2010 (UTC)

DYK for Jason Ratcliff

Updated DYK queryOn 14 December 2010, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Jason Ratcliff, which you recently nominated. The fact was ... that Jason Ratcliff was the 2009 NASCAR Nationwide Series champion crew chief? If you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page.

Advice on how & where to open a can of worms

I have a proposal that I would like to make public in the next day or so. I am unsure of where I could place this notice, and to what degree you might expect a large enough group of people to review it. See this page: User:Uruiamme/Main Page proposal

Your opinion may be helpful, however, my main goal is to let a large group consider it or laugh at it or whatever they feel like doing. The Main Page is getting rather blah these days.

Thanks, I like to saw logs! (talk) 22:23, 16 December 2010 (UTC)

Sig title

hello,

on your main page your title is a sig. Is it {{DISPLAYTITLE:blabla}}? If yes, why it doesn't go in my page? If not, please explain me how you did that. Thank you.-- ♫Greatorangepumpkin♫ T 13:37, 17 December 2010 (UTC)

DISPLAYTITLE can only display your username. You can customize the appearance of the tile with colors, fonts, etc. with DISPLAYTITLE. You can't alter the text. ~NerdyScienceDude 14:14, 17 December 2010 (UTC)
It doesn't go! Please do it for me! Thank you.-- ♫Greatorangepumpkin♫ T 14:33, 17 December 2010 (UTC)
Done. It wouldn't work before because you placed a timestamp and a talk page link in the DISPLAYTITLE. It can only display your username. ~NerdyScienceDude 14:39, 17 December 2010 (UTC)

User:Previously banned user

What is the big deal with removing that stupid tag from that user page? That user contributed some valuable content to Misplaced Pages. 109.155.96.148 (talk) 14:29, 19 December 2010 (UTC)

That account is a sock puppet of a banned user. Oh, and according to this edit summary, you appear to be that banned user. ~NerdyScienceDude 14:32, 19 December 2010 (UTC)
What about when a banned user makes useful contributions? I just don't like the way you tag these pages as though I were some kind of leper. Won't you be reasonable? YOu know, ignore all rules or whatever. Which would you rather do, help bring the sum of all human knowledge to everyone in the world, or insult the people who try to do this. That 'banned user' wrote this article and many others. I don't see why your job description is to insult him. 109.155.96.148 (talk) 14:37, 19 December 2010 (UTC)
It doesn't matter if they made useful contributions. A banned user is banned. ~NerdyScienceDude 14:38, 19 December 2010 (UTC)
I'm not talking about being banned. I'm talking about putting these insulting messages on such users' pages. Don't you follow that? Do you have any human feelings? I'm a banned user, but I'm a person too. What rule actually requires you to put these nasty tags on useful contributors' pages? 109.155.96.148 (talk) 14:40, 19 December 2010 (UTC)

possible vandalism (village pump)

I probably shouldn't have written it - getting a bit bitey with the annoying editor (User talk:Sunflowergal34) , I'll take a quick break to cool down a bit anyway, so I don't say anything more that wont help. You gave me a useful prompt. Thanks.83.100.225.242 (talk) 17:49, 21 December 2010 (UTC)

I know this person looks like a problem, but I wonder if editors went too far, too fast.

For December, the first message was Level 2, you did a 3 and now he's at 4. What happened to 1? Just asking; thanks — Safety Cap (talk) 18:16, 21 December 2010 (UTC)

I'm not sure why there's no level one warning, but that shouldn't matter since the IP is now blocked. ~NerdyScienceDude 18:20, 21 December 2010 (UTC)

Christmas mottos and a note to self to spell determined correctly next time when acting like a bot

The motto idea for those between 25th December and mid January needs consensus dtermined badly on which version should be used for which day or even whether the whole idea should be scrapped or postponed. Please help by discussion and determining consensus at WT:Motto of the day/Nominations#Christmas series and Misplaced Pages:Motto of the day/Nominations/Specials. The deadline is Friday at 9pm UTC.
