troublemakers
sameleik,
The Montazeri anon seems suspicious. Id think hes pasting the stuff from somewhere (though I havent read it). Usually mass editings tend to be copied off of somewhere, especially if done in a few submits.
The way things are going, it seems they will shred to pieces that preTurkic Azari section in the Iranian languages page. I dont think there is much I can do there.
"Takbir"! Funny.--Zereshk 02:29, 1 February 2006 (UTC)
I also started this article. But I have to go home now.--Zereshk 02:42, 1 February 2006 (UTC)
btw, what do you think of the pics I posted on Cuisine of Iran? Aw man...they sell kababs there (chelow kababi Alborz in Tehran) priced by the meter!--Zereshk 03:05, 1 February 2006 (UTC)
Azerbaijani people
Hey SouthernComfort,
I like Tombseye's idea. Tajik is trying to have the number of Azeris be low, while the Turkic editors are trying to have it be high. I think we should have a broader range. Also, I'll see what I can do about the image. I've been pretty busy with this Turkish POV vandal called Inanna lately. --Khoikhoi 01:40, 2 February 2006 (UTC)
History of Khuzestan
Ok, I'll back you up. But don't forget to add a comment on the talk page. ;) --Khoikhoi 03:14, 3 February 2006 (UTC)
- We should do that if she reverts again. --Khoikhoi 03:19, 3 February 2006 (UTC)
- Yeah, thanks man. I've been having a probelm with a lot of Pan-Turkish editors recently. Nationalism really has no place on Misplaced Pages. I've tried to explain to these people again and again what NPOV means, but they really have no idea. All they say is, "I'm right and you're wrong". It's pretty sad, actually. --Khoikhoi 03:32, 3 February 2006 (UTC)
- Here's the essential problem: User:-Inanna-. She is some Turkish nationalist girl from North Cyprus who inserts Turkish POV and un-cited statisitcs into articles. Her only option is the Turkish POV, as far as she's concerned. I've tried to explain to her about NPOV, but she resuses to listen. Whenever she is blocked for violating the 3RR, she simply evades it by logging out and taking advantage of the fact that her IP address changes all the time. Oh, and she has openly stated that she "hates all Greeks".
- For a more detailed description of her see this comment by Tombseye. Basically, here's a list of the articles that she reverts:
- Albanians
- Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus
- Turkish Cypriot
- Pontian Greeks
- and Turkish people when it's unprotected.
- Perhaps when you have the time, if she reverts again, you could help me out. I'd really appreciate it. Thanks. --Khoikhoi 03:56, 3 February 2006 (UTC)
- There good Turkish editors, such as User:DivineIntervention and User:AverageTurkishJoe. It's just that people like Inanna and User:Hybridlily are so immature that they make all the Turkish editors look bad. I'm too lazy to write up an ArbCom case, and I'm afraid that I'll get blocked or insulted more by Inanna if I do this. Whenever I ask an admin for help that I don't really know, they either block me or don't help me at all. :( --Khoikhoi 04:19, 3 February 2006 (UTC)
Thanks. I'll look into ArbCom if this continues. However, right now we're having a vote on the picture, and discussing things out. Hopefully we'll get the article to a version where it still pleases me and Tombseye but doesn't piss off the Turks. As for the other articles, I've talked with Inanna many times, but to no avail. She just thinks she's right and that's the end of discussion. She needs to realize that there are other people out there. For example, she keeps on pushing the fact that North Cyprus is a country because "Turkey recognizes it". I explained to her that Turkey is the only country in the world that recognizes it, but she says that "Turkey is enough". What kind of crap is that?
I really appreciate you trying to help me out here. As I said before, I'll try ArbCom, if everything else fails, but it looks like we don't need meditation at the moment. Thanks again. --Khoikhoi 05:12, 3 February 2006 (UTC)
- I'll look into it, but it looks like you've got everything under control for now. Let me know if it gets out of hand. --Khoikhoi 00:32, 4 February 2006 (UTC)
- Please help me out on Tatars and Turkish Cypriot. Inanna is reverting again. --Khoikhoi 02:55, 4 February 2006 (UTC)
- Ok, thanks. She's been blocked for 24h so let's see if she tries to use sockpuppets this time. --Khoikhoi 18:16, 4 February 2006 (UTC)
History of Khuzestan (2)
Hi SouthernComfort, thanks for your heroic efforts, both on Iranian languages and (as I see know), on History of Khuzestan. I just stumbled on that one while "Wiki-stalking" you (in a positive sense). Just one comment: In your review you left one quote untouched which apparently had previously been an object of some contention, in your first section on Elam:
- " and Ibn Nadeem in his book al-Fehrest (“الفهرست”), mentions that all the Median and Persian lands of antiquity spoke one language."
I'd very much advise against this passage, at least against leaving it stand side by side with a judgment of modern scholarship, as it now stands. The reason is simple: Ibn Nadeem may be a good source on his own period, but about antiquity he simply didn't have a chance to know. There was no linguistic historiography at the time; he couldn't possibly have any knowledge about Elamite. and in hindsight, given what modern linguistics knows, his statement is simply mistaken (as the article itself states Elamite was clearly not identical to any of the other known languages of the area). His statement cannot possibly be relevant to the Elamite period. All the best, Lukas 09:22, 3 February 2006 (UTC)
Montazeri
Hi, Why you are insisting on Montazeri house arrest is still remain? And why you think he objected the institution of velayat-e-faqih?
I'd be very thankful if u give me the source. Harry
Mahdi
Ive heard of the saying about Mahdi. But I dont have any references for it. Though I would bet that we could find something if we looked in Bohar al-Anwar, which I have a copy of. I'll let you know if I certainly do see it.--Zereshk 22:26, 3 February 2006 (UTC)
Tatars
I think the article is fine how it is right now, because according to the article, all Tatars are related. This is true, right? --Khoikhoi 05:42, 5 February 2006 (UTC)
Sassanid + Achaemenid
Hi man. Tough time in New Orleans. See I need some more materials for Sassanids to finalize it then move my efforts to Achaemenids, that page needs some serious rewrite. So I'm asking if you have any source that could be useful in these two articles. I'd be really thankful and nice pic by the way. Amir85 19:42, 6 February 2006 (UTC)

Poll
Hey SouthernComfort,
Just wondering if you'd be able to vote in the poll at Talk:Turkish people#Image:Turks2.jpg. Thanks. --Khoikhoi 00:18, 6 February 2006 (UTC)
- Yeah, that was it. You said that it wasn't banned in Iran, since all the Kurdish editors disagree, and you didn't provide a source, I had no other choice. :( --Khoikhoi 08:45, 6 February 2006 (UTC)
- Lol, at least it's still in the Ethnobox... Maybe you should talk to him. --Khoikhoi 08:47, 6 February 2006 (UTC)
- Oh crap!!! I mis-read it as "flag" instead of "language". Damnit! --Khoikhoi 08:52, 6 February 2006 (UTC)
- ;) What did you think of the video? --Khoikhoi 08:56, 6 February 2006 (UTC)
- Hehe. Oh, by the way, guess who got a new sockpuppet? I don't know what I'm going to do with that kid... :P --Khoikhoi 09:06, 6 February 2006 (UTC)
Why are you supporting the picture of a jew as a persian?
Fars/Pars
I did it, but just to let you know - it was a copy/paste move, which in this case (certainly not all) was easily reverted. --Golbez 02:34, 6 February 2006 (UTC)

Mahdi
Regarding your question about that hadith about people seeing Mahdi, I found an entire chapter in Bihar al-Anwar by Allama Majlesi which gives accounts on variations of this topic. It is in Vol 13 Chap 28 (bab-i 28).
Hope that helps.--Zereshk 23:12, 6 February 2006 (UTC)
Hi
Hello, did you ask me something in discussion page? Inanna 02:01, 7 February 2006 (UTC)
Misplaced Pages:Featured article candidates
Please help to solidify and improve the Persian Empire article, its currently on Misplaced Pages:Featured article candidates. Amir85 19:06, 7 February 2006 (UTC)
Dorod
Hi. Do you think we have any chance to promote an Iran-related article to Misplaced Pages:Featured articles ? if so do you have any article in mind that we could work on it for promotion ? Amir85 13:47, 16 February 2006 (UTC)
What's up?
Hey man, where have you been? It's been awhile since you've been editing, has "real life" taken up your time? ;) You won't believe what happened - the Kurdish editors took over the Persian people page, they started doing all this crap like moving it to Fars people! I mean come on, they claim they're improving the article but they use an Arab term. Fortuately some new Persian editor reverted everything. Hehehe. --Khoikhoi 19:51, 19 February 2006 (UTC)
Discussion Page Help
-Hello Southern Comfort. This is Afghan Historian from the Parsi page. I need your help. On the Freddie Mercury discussion page, one user is pushing for the fact that Freddie Mercury is not an Indian, despite being a Parsi and that he is just a Persian as he said. I kind of take issue as it is because while Parsis are of Iranian origins, they have lived in India way too long to be just that. I think he should be called Indian Parsi (Persian) so both sides of his heritage is recognized. I dont think one can erase his Indian background of 17 years just because of some of his comments, can they? I may be wrong though. -User: Afghan Historian
Heja Helweda, Diyako, Aucaman
These three users are on some sort of anti-Iranian crusade vandalizing all the Iranian and Persian related articles. We need to keep an eye on their " edit activities" as their intentions is not sincere but merely for the purpose of propagating false information.
