It is a more sophisticated version of the much simpler vibrator. The device can be used on either men or women, for stimulation of the anus and / or (for women) vagina.
A typical machine works by the transfer of rotational force from a motor to a directional motion on a shaft, with this shaft being tipped with a dildo.
These devices are closely associated with, but by no means limited to, BDSM play.
Other machines may consist of a dildo being attached to the end of a rotating device such as an electric drill, which rotates back and forth to achieve stimulation.
Safety
On a commercial basis, these machines have been designed and / or modified for the purpose of human penetration and stimulation.
