One Piece (known as Drake in some regions) is an anime and manga about super-powered pirates, treasure and following your dreams.

One Piece is set in a fictional world, where pirates run rampant in a era know as the "Golden Age of Pirates". The story of One Piece follows the adventures of a young pirate named Monkey D. Luffy whose body was turned to rubber after he unknowingly ate a cursed fruit known as the Devils Fruit. The series is very colorful and simultaneously holds a Peter Pan and Alice in Wonderland flair.

Because of its colorful characters and intense fights between bizarre characters One Piece has gained a level of popularity near that of Dragon Ball in Japan. Other manga that have recently gotten near that popularity point are Inuyasha and Naruto.

One Piece was created by Eiichiro Oda. The series began its run in 1997 in Weekly Shonen Jump and is still being serialized. As of 2004, more than 325 chapters and 33 collected volumes of the manga have appeared. There are also more than 195 episodes of the television series, as well as four theatrical movies.

One Piece was recently licensed for North American Release by 4kids Entertainment and will likely have subtle changes made in the US release.
