Justine Thornton (born 1969) is a former child actress known for her appearance in Dramarama (TV series) and Hardwicke House. Ms Thornton, who is an environmental lawyer, is not married to Mr Miliband, who, in the past, has said that he has been 'too busy' to marry his girlfriend of five years.

Miss Thornton has excelled in law, another great field of public performance. Called to the Bar in 1994, she went on to specialise in environmental law and has been attracting the praise of her colleagues ever since. She is variously described as “intelligent, thorough, enthusiastic and pleasant” and “charming and highly committed”. Last year’s Legal 500, the lawyers’ directory, simply called her “first class”.

Career

Shortly before starting at university, she acted in the long-running children’s show Dramarama, alongside Wil Johnson, who is currently starring in Waterloo Road.
