ITV decided not to participate in Junior Eurovision 2006, thus leaving Spedding the Best UK entry in Junior Eurovision. She was brought up in Frizington, near Whitehaven Cumbria. Until 2005 she attended Whitehaven School but then moved to a stage school in London.
