Hüseyin Daniş Tunalıgil (1915 – 22 October 1975) was a Turkish diplomat. He was assassinated by JCAG in 1975 during his duty as the Turkish ambassador to Austria.
Life and career
Tunalıgil was born in Ankara, Turkey in 1915. He was graduated from Galatasaray High School in 1933. In 1939, entered the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He was the ambassador of Turkey to Jordan, Yugoslavia, the Netherlands and Austria.
Assassination
Main article: Assassination of Daniş TunalıgilOn 22 October 1975, three gunmen armed with automatic weapons entered his office in the Turkish Embassy in Vienna, Austria after disarming the security guards at the gate. They asked Daniş Tunalıgil whether he was the ambassador, and killed him when he confirmed that he was. The three gunmen left the embassy quickly and escaped by a car.
