Jabba is of the Hutt race, and like most of his species, he is a gangster. His wife´s name is Jabbana. He loaned Han Solo a large sum of money before Episode 4 A New Hope, and puts a price on Han's head which is collected between Episodes 5 and 6 by Boba Fett.
In Episode 6, Return of the Jedi, Luke Skywalker enters Jabba's palace to free Han Solo.
