Welcome—request protection of a page, file, or template here.
    Shortcuts

Before requesting, read the protection policy. Full protection is used to stop edit warring between multiple users or to prevent vandalism to high-risk templates; semi-protection and pending changes are usually used to prevent IP and new user vandalism (see the rough guide to semi-protection); and move protection is used to stop pagemove revert wars. Extended confirmed protection is used where semi-protection has proved insufficient (see the rough guide to extended confirmed protection)

After a page has been protected, it is listed in the page history and logs with a short rationale, and the article is listed on Special:Protectedpages. In the case of full protection due to edit warring, admins should not revert to specific versions of the page, except to get rid of obvious vandalism.

Indefinite Semi-protect. Every day without fail users (mostly IPs or newly registered users) are adding themselves in the notable owners section. If not that, it's an ad for a breeder. Would like to see some kind of protection from this. Endlessdan (talk) 19:20, 17 May 2011 (UTC)

Temporary semi-protection, A large volume of vandalism by IP editors has been happening on this page today, I'm not sure why this is happening today, but it might be an idea to semi-protect it. Quasihuman | Talk 17:28, 17 May 2011 (UTC)

Protection, There has been too much unsourced information from IPs regarding the show. I just finished a major overhaul. Sarujo (talk) 17:55, 17 May 2011 (UTC)

Declined, It's very hard to pick out the unhe, pful edits. Hopefully now you've redrafted it it might settle. Relist if it carries on GedUK  20:06, 17 May 2011 (UTC)

    Sergio Agüero (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Temporary semi-protection, This page is becoming a target for speculation about a transfer deal of the subject to Liverpool FC. I haven't seen any reliable sources backing this up, and the page is being edited by several different IPs. I think it would be prudent to semi-protect this until the hype has died down or an official announcement is made. Mr. Stradivarius 16:34, 17 May 2011 (UTC)

Semi-protected for a period of 1 week, after which the page will be automatically unprotected. Rami R 17:31, 17 May 2011 (UTC)

Temporary full protection vandalism, Keeps being vandalised, especially by IP 130.88.92.8. Rcsprinter 15:32, 17 May 2011 (UTC)

At least two IPs making related vandalism edits, likely the same person at an educational institution. It's a /16 IP block, so Whac-a-Mole(tm) is unlikely to be effective. --Alan the Roving Ambassador (talk) 15:42, 17 May 2011 (UTC)

Semi-protect. BLP subjected to high levels of vandalism. doomgaze (talk) 15:19, 17 May 2011 (UTC)

Declined – Not enough recent disruptive activity to justify protection.. The last series of vandalism was a week ago. The current vandalism edits (two of them) are too less to justify protection. However, if you do see it increasing, please do come back. The article will be protected. Wifione ....... 16:24, 17 May 2011 (UTC)

    Seth Material (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

    Current requests for unprotection

    Shortcuts

Before posting, first discuss with the protecting admin on their talk page. Post below only if you receive no reply.

    • To find out the username of the admin who protected the page, click on "history" at the top of the page, then click on "View logs for this page," which is under the title of the page. The protecting admin is the username in blue before the words "protected", "changed protection level" or "pending changes". If there are a number of entries on the log page, you might find it easier to select "Protection log" or "Pending changes log" from the dropdown menu in the blue box.
    • Requests to downgrade full protection to template protection on templates and modules can be directed straight here; you do not need to ask the protecting admin first.
    • Requests for removing create protection on redlinked articles are generally assisted by having a draft version of the intended article prepared beforehand.
    • If you want to make spelling corrections or add uncontroversial information to a protected page, please add {{Edit fully-protected}} to the article's talk page, along with an explanation of what you want to add to the page. If the talk page is protected, please use the section below.

Check the archives if you cannot find your request. Only recently answered requests are still listed here.

Current requests for edits to a protected page

    Shortcut

Ideally, requests should be made on the article talk page rather than here.

    • Unless the talk page itself is protected, you may instead add the appropriate template among {{Edit protected}}, {{Edit template-protected}}, {{Edit extended-protected}}, or {{Edit semi-protected}} to the article's talk page if you would like to make a change rather than requesting it here. Doing so will automatically place the page in the appropriate category for the request to be reviewed.
    • Where requests are made due to the editor having a conflict of interest (COI; see Misplaced Pages:Suggestions for COI compliance), the {{Edit COI}} template should be used.
    • Requests to move move-protected pages should be made at Misplaced Pages:Requested moves, not here.
    • If the discussion page and the article are both protected preventing you from making an edit request, this page is the right place to make that request. Please see the top of this page for instructions on how to post requests.
    • This page is not for continuing or starting discussions regarding content should both an article and its discussion page be protected. Please make a request only if you have a specific edit you wish to make.

Indefinite Semi-protect. Long-term high level of IP vandalism. Almost all IP edits are vandals/unsubtle POV-pushing. Typical example: for this month of the 22 IP edits, 20 had to be reverted. DeCausa (talk) 13:44, 17 May 2011 (UTC)

Temporary full protection dispute, Currently undergoing an edit war between editors. -=- Adam Walker -=- 10:22, 17 May 2011 (UTC)

User(s) blocked. I've blocked both of them, and added full protection for a week. GedUK  12:24, 17 May 2011 (UTC)

    Jonathan King (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Long-term semi-protection would be appreciated. This is a BLP of someone convicted in 2001 of sexually assaulting teenagers. There is regular editing by IPs or new accounts designed either to remove or dilute material about the conviction, or to add deliberate errors/vandalism. I suspect it's the same person, possibly related to the subject. Most of the edits to the article since September 2010 are edits like this, or reverting them. SlimVirgin 10:14, 17 May 2011 (UTC)

Semi-protected for a period of 6 months, after which the page will be automatically unprotected. GedUK  12:18, 17 May 2011 (UTC)

    Template:Islam-start (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs)

Permanent Semi-protection. A new template used as a (temporary) replacement for the high-risk template {{Islam}}. Wiqi 22:03, 16 May 2011 (UTC)

Semi-protected for a period of 3 months, after which the page will be automatically unprotected. If it's a temporary template, then temporary protection seems a better solution. Relist as necessary. GedUK  12:13, 17 May 2011 (UTC)

    Operation Zitronella (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Temporary full protection requested; There is a slow edit war building on the Operation Zitronella page. Protection request was advised by admin at WP:3RR (here). Xyl 54 (talk) 11:53, 17 May 2011 (UTC)

Actually, can I withdraw this? it seems the other editor has just been blocked. Thanks anyway! Xyl 54 (talk) 12:05, 17 May 2011 (UTC)
