Proposed deletion of Csaba P. Kovesdy

The article Csaba P. Kovesdy has been proposed for deletion because under Misplaced Pages policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't take offense. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Misplaced Pages:Referencing for beginners or ask at Misplaced Pages:Help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Porturology (talk) 01:14, 29 May 2011 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Csaba P. Kovesdy

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Csaba P. Kovesdy requesting that it be speedily deleted from Misplaced Pages. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion," which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Misplaced Pages's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Porturology (talk) 01:58, 29 May 2011 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Csaba P. Kovesdy

The article Csaba P. Kovesdy has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Does not match notability standards of WP:Academic

While all contributions to Misplaced Pages are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Porturology (talk) 02:00, 29 May 2011 (UTC)

Request reason:

Thanks for your speedy feedback. Your response reminds one of AT&T. Is this the direction Misplaced Pages is heading to? Hope not. We need help from the true “Misplaced Pages” pioneers . Looking at your track record. Traditionalists will continue to delete CHANGE. But together we can change. Please unblock. The creation of the account Buntout1234 may not be considered as SOCK, but DOPPELGAENGER given the original account Burntout123. Decline reason:

I am declining your unblock request because it does not address the reason for your block, or because it is inadequate for other reasons. To be unblocked, you must convince the reviewing administrator(s) that

  • the block is not necessary to prevent damage or disruption to Misplaced Pages, or
  • the block is no longer necessary because you
    1. understand what you have been blocked for,
    2. will not continue to cause damage or disruption, and

Thanks for speedy review. The continuation of block is not necessary to prevent damage/disruption to Misplaced Pages given the prior track record and given important contribution albeit limited. Please merge Doppelgänger "Burntout1234" to the parent "Burntout123" upon its unblock. EXPLANATION: A doppelgänger account is a second account created with a username similar to one's main account to prevent impersonation. The block is no longer necessary because this user understands what this user has been blocked for deficient familiarity with deletion procedure, will not continue to cause repaeted posting upon deletion but will pusue UNDELETE via official escalation, and will continue making useful contributions. Here's two of many problems: you're never allowed to edit with both the primary account AND the doppelganger account. In particular given the five "pillars":

  • Misplaced Pages is an online encyclopedia. It is not a dictionary, newspaper, or a collection of source documents; that kind of content should be contributed instead to the Wikimedia sister projects.
  • Misplaced Pages has a neutral point of view. We strive for articles that advocate no single point of view. Sometimes this requires representing multiple points of view, presenting each point of view accurately and in context, and not presenting any point of view as "the truth" or "the best view" .
  • Misplaced Pages is free content that anyone can edit and distribute.
  • Wikipedians should interact in a respectful and civil manner. Act in good faith, never disrupt Misplaced Pages to illustrate a point, and assume good faith on the part of others. Be open and welcoming (especially IF YOU HAVE THE privilege OF BEING AND ADMINISTRATOR of Misplaced Pages].
  • Misplaced Pages does not have firm rules . Rules on Misplaced Pages are not carved in stone, and the spirit of the rule trumps the letter of the rule. Be bold (but not reckless) in updating articles and do not worry about making mistakes . Your efforts do not need to be perfect; prior versions are saved, so no damage is irreparable.Not_2_Portal_Urology_and_Other_Traditionalists

Comment from blocking admin. For someone leaning so heavily on civility and acting in good faith in your unblock request, you were very quick to accuse Cirt, myself, and Porturology of bad faith in closing the AfD, speedy deleting the recreation of the article, and nominating a second article you've been involved with for deletion.
To get more comfortable that you understand the policies, what rationale will you put forward to request the undeletion of Burnt-out diabetes mellitus at WP:DRV when you are no longer blocked? —C.Fred (talk) 15:05, 4 June 2011 (UTC)

Concept of Neovandalism

(edit conflict)A couple of things. First, PortUrology did not participate at all in the deletion discussion for the burnt-out diabetes page (Misplaced Pages:Articles for deletion/Burnt-out diabetes mellitus), so it's hard to include him into the discussion. Second, the closing admin in an AfD is supposed to weigh the merits of the arguments when closing a deletion discussion. JFW, Atmoz, and Novangelis presented reasoning grounded in established Misplaced Pages policy. Your arguments focused on Google hits, where are generally not held as evidence of notability of a subject. Also, you were the only editor to clearly advocate keeping the article. To successfully argue the case at DRV, you'll have to demonstrate that Cirt closed the discussion with a consensus of keep when the discussion showed otherwise—and IMO, there's no evidence at the AfD to do that.
That said, it is possible to create a new article that addresses the concerns raised in the AfD. Had you, for instance, provided references to the published works of the experts you intended to consult, the article might have been substantially different enough to avoid speedy deletion. Instead, you recreated an article that was essentially the same as the one deleted via the AfD—no new sources, no new claims of notability. To successfully appeal those deletions (plural, because you tried to create the article about a dozen times over three or four titles), you'll need to indicate that there are new sources, new claims, or there's some other improvement in the article that addresses the concerns raised at AfD. If you would like to work on restoring the article, I can restore it into your user space after your block expires. The article draft will need to stay there until established Misplaced Pages editors have reviewed it and deem it's sufficiently improved to go back into the main encyclopedia.
Finally, you were not labelled a vandal for attempting to create a page. You were labelled a disruptive editor after multiple attempts to recreate a page, multiple warnings why it was inappropriate, multiple invitations to discuss the situation, and your refusal to discuss the situation. If you're willing to discuss the article civilly, that's one thing. However, I don't think it's helping your case (or the article's) to continue to label other editors and their contributions as "regulated vandalism," "biased," or "paralyz Misplaced Pages". I also must step back from this recommendation I made earlier this morning: so long as you continue to target other editors in that fashion, I would not grant an unblock request (at least, not without another editor agreeing to mentor you and keep an eye on your edits). —C.Fred (talk) 18:05, 4 June 2011 (UTC)
    • Agree with the suggestions on the steps towards creation and testing of the deleted page upon surveillance. The mention of consensus upon deletion is not highly meritorious if there is conceived group bias. This matter can be considered as a test of tolerance to examine how challenged Misplaced Pages administrators can resist developing personal bias or use their privileges to extend blockage upon an articulate new user. Doubt if this administrator can adhere to his own original decision of 31-hour block. Administers with mitigated level of tolerance upon stress test should be re-evaluated. The level of commitment towards original 31 hour decision is being watched. He will likely choose to penalize civil criticism despite lack of any evidence towards future ‘’’disruption’’’. It appears that this administrator cannot tolerate the concept of neovandalism for the fear of being associated with it and expect block period extension, which will practically contradict all statements and claimed spirit of Misplaced Pages. True tolerance survives provocation. Intolerance is disclosed upon stress tests. To_Expand_Tolerance_

Regulated vanadlism

A tag has been placed on Regulated vanadlism, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Misplaced Pages. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a redirect from an implausible typo.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you believe that there is a reason to keep the redirect, you can request that administrators wait a while before deleting it. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}} to the page and state your intention on the article's talk page. Canvassing

Hello. It appears that you have been canvassing—leaving messages on others' talk pages to notify them of an ongoing community decision, debate, or vote. While friendly notices are allowed, they should be limited and nonpartisan in distribution and should reflect a neutral point of view. Please do not post notices which are indiscriminately cross-posted, which espouse a certain point of view or side of a debate, or which are selectively sent only to those who are believed to hold the same opinion as you. Remember to respect Misplaced Pages's principle of consensus-building by allowing decisions to reflect the prevailing opinion among the community at large.

In reply to a message on Catfish Jim's talkpage

First, I need to stress that you should not, under any circumstances, redirect an article to your userspace. The mainspace (the article namespace, where articles are) is for the readers, while most of the rest of the namespaces (signified by the words that come before the colon; for example, this page is in the user talk namespace, or the user talkspace) are for us editors. We do not want to burden our readers by mixing things designed for them and things designed solely for us. Additionally, the rules regarding acceptable content are very different in different namespaces; most of our content policies, for instance, do not apply outside of the mainspace, while most behavioral policies and guidelines have little impact in the mainspace. Redirects from the mainspace to most other namespaces are immediately deletable under WP:CSD#R2, for these reasons.

To create a redirect (which I again stress that you shouldn't do in this case), use the following code as the entire text of the page. #REDIRECT] So, for example, if you wanted to redirect some title to Earth, you would place #REDIRECT] as the entire text of the page you want to redirect. Commonly, if you redirect page A to page B, page B is called the "redirect target" or simply the "target" of page A.

I hope this answers your question and helps you create redirects in the future. Cheers. lifebaka++ 21:00, 5 June 2011 (UTC)

As a side note,do not create test pages, such as New user, in the mainspace. We maintain a sandbox at WP:SANDBOX which can be used for testing, or you can create your own at User:Burntout123/Sandbox. Cheers. lifebaka++ 21:06, 5 June 2011 (UTC)

I hate to hit you with this giant templated message, but (1) the template wouldn't exist if it weren't something we deal with frequently here, and (2) the templates exist to provide a standard message when these things come up, so it's more the voice of the community than my personal take on the situation. —C.Fred (talk) 06:26, 6 June 2011 (UTC)

The burnt-out diabetes mellitus page has been userfied

Per your request, I have taken the deleted version of Burnt-out diabetes mellitus and restored it into your userspace. It is now at User:Burntout123/Burnt-out diabetes mellitus.

The purpose of userfication is to allow you to improve the article in hopes of returning it to the main encyclopedia in the future. This is done to "incubate" the article and allow it time and space to grow. If it does not—specifically, if independent reliable sources are not added to the article—it is subject to being deleted. Userfication is not to allow the text to live on indefinitely.

While it's in userspace, please leave the {{Userspace draft}} template at the top of the article, so there's no question about its status. Also, some items that appear in articles may not be used in userspace; specifically, you may not add non-free images and should not add categories or navigation templates. —C.Fred (talk) 04:06, 7 June 2011 (UTC)

Please don't add multiple Keeps to Article Deletion discussions

Welcome to Misplaced Pages! Thank you for your comments, which you added in discussion at Misplaced Pages:Articles for deletion/Csaba P. Kovesdy. Please note that on Misplaced Pages, consensus is determined by discussion, not voting, and it is the quality of arguments that counts, not the number of people supporting a position. Consider reading about the deletion policy for a brief overview for the deletion process, and how we decide what to keep and what to delete. We hope you decide to stay and contribute even more. In addition, multiple Votes don't help you build consensus. Finally, as others have asked, please correct the signature you use on talk pages so that your contributions can be clearly associated with you. Simply ending your comments with 4 tildes will suffice, like this: ~~~~ Thanks, JoeSperrazza (talk) 14:57, 9 June 2011 (UTC)

Your recent edits

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Misplaced Pages pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You could also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 17:27, 9 June 2011 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Non-dialysis dependent

The article Non-dialysis dependent has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

This is term associated with early stage Chronic kidney disease and should be deleted per WP:Misplaced Pages is not a dictionary.

Novangelis (talk) 18:03, 9 June 2011 (UTC)

It appears that you have set your signature (under "My Preferences") such that it does not contain any links back to you. While using 4 tildes ("~~~~") will generate text, it will not generate the requisite links if this is the case.Novangelis (talk) 18:03, 9 June 2011 (UTC)
