  • Budget: $6 million
  • Box Office Receipts: $51.5 million (as of March 10, 2006)

The reasoning for the film's relative success, according to Steve Rothenberg, Lions Gate president of domestic distribution, is due to its targeted market appeal, "I believe that we're in all the right theaters...I'm not sure there's much room for expansion." To illustrate the point, Lions Gate exit polls showed 52% of the audience were black women over the age of 35. The film grossed $13,687 per screen, a number that nearly matched the initial release weekend average of Hollywood's most recent blockbuster previous to this film, King Kong (2005)
