RfA Thanks

Thank you for voting on my RfA, it passed with a final tally of 68/0/0 so I'm now an administrator. If there's anything I can do to help, you feel I've done something wrong, or there's just something you want to tell, don't hesitate to use my talk page. Thanks. - Bobet 10:22, 1 March 2006 (UTC)

My RfA

Hi! Thanks for your support in my request for adminship (did you know that "adminiship" is not an English word? Unbelievable!). It ended with a tally of (51/0/0). As an administrator, I hope to better help this project and its participants: if you have any question or request for help, please let me know. - Liberatore(T) 12:06, 1 March 2006 (UTC)

Toolbox

About your toolbox, I would like to include something similar on my page, and I am wondering if I can use the same code as yours. It says you got it from FireFox. Will he come after me if I copy it? --Krashlandon (e) 02:37, 2 March 2006 (UTC)

I wouldn't think so, feel free to copy it, but it wouldn't hurt to give credit that it's his. Naconkantari e|t||c|m 02:38, 2 March 2006 (UTC)
So I'll just leave the FireFox tag on it. Thanks, --Krashlandon (e) 02:39, 2 March 2006 (UTC)

Stop it

I don't know why you think you're better than me. But I am writing this professionaly. I made one mistake in trying to talk to somebody because I'm new to wikipedia and have only ever seen my parents edit it before. And all I wanted to do was add that "Millionth article" ceritfication to the millionth page - and you're like "I'm better than you". :| Just because you think you're right doesn't mean you are... The preceding unsigned comment was added by 203.109.165.111 (talk • contribs) .

If you would please read the announcement at the top of the article, it clearly says to not add any notices to to the article. Please keep them on the talk page. Thanks Naconkantari e|t||c|m 03:30, 3 March 2006 (UTC)

Dear Naconkantari, I wish to ban Danko Georgiev from Misplaced Pages for his repeated accusations of Fraud to me regarding my experiment on the talk pages. Thanks for making an comment

I'd just like to take a moment to thank you, Naconkantari for making an comment in my request for adminship. Seeing some very valid concerns, I've pulled the RfA until some of the concerns can be addressed. Thanks for your comments, I'll use them to help better myself -- Tawker 02:27, 4 March 2006 (UTC)

Should the test1 have been used? I would have used the BV template.--Vercalos 03:42, 4 March 2006 (UTC)

Well, I didn't see anything that was a blatant attempt at vandalism in it, so I decided that a simple {{test1}} would be better than a {{bv}}. Naconkantari e|t||c|m 03:45, 4 March 2006 (UTC)

Would one less week make a big difference?

Sorry for the bother, but at last check of the calendar, for our purposes, it is March 6 (UTC), one week before March 13. Now, I have been thinking it over, and I urge you to accept my nomination for adminship. Why a week too early? Well:

  • Within the last few days alone, on many occasions, sysop privilleges would have been in your best interest.
  • For example, just a half hour ago, the Manchester F. C. vandal made 2 more hits of the page after your test4 warning. Now I am certain this has happened many times.
  • If a nomination goes through now, you will have sysop privilleges by next weekend. If a nomination goes through next week, sysop privilleges won't be available until March 20.
  • If you were able to implement blocks and so forth without the intervention of another admin, I, for example, wouldn't have to list your test4 vandals at AIV, allowing me to track other vandals, and the intervening admin could spend their time more efficiently by not having to block users that you tracked down on your behalf.
  • Your first nom. from Sceptre came after one month, but today, you are one week short of three months - I don't see too many oppose votes at this point for "lack of experience". Plus, you respectably withdrew the first one.

Please accept. Its all for the best. --Jay(Reply) 18:32, 5 March 2006 (UTC)

Master Jay would like to nominate you to be an administrator. Please visit Misplaced Pages:Requests for adminship to see what this process entails, and then contact Master Jay to accept or decline the nomination. A page has been created for your nomination at Misplaced Pages:Requests for adminship/Naconkantari2. If you accept the nomination, you must formally state your acceptance and answer the questions on that page. Once you have answered the questions, you may post your nomination for discussion, or request that your nominator do so.
  1. Go to your RfA subpage, and either accept or decline your nomination. If you decline, be sure to inform your nominator.
  2. After you accept your nomination, make sure to answer the standard questions for all candidates.
  3. Change the time on your RfA page to indicate the current time.
  4. Edit this page and add the following text above the most recent nomination (replacing USERNAME with your name):
    {{Misplaced Pages:Requests for adminship/USERNAME}} ----
Thanks, I have accepted. I hope this one works out better than last time. Naconkantari e|t||c|m 21:07, 5 March 2006 (UTC)
Just to let you know that I'd be rather disappointed if your RfA fails (as you might be able to work out from what I've said there ;-) It's currently right on borderline, so it could still go either way. Be interesting to see which way it is closed if it stays borderline. Petros471 14:29, 6 March 2006 (UTC)
Obviously not too much need to worry :) Petros471 21:26, 12 March 2006 (UTC)

Thank you for your support in my recent RFA. It passed 53/1/2 and I am now an administrator. Thanks for cleaning up the Korean wikipedia. -- ChongDae 08:53, 8 March 2006 (UTC)

Huge thanks from me as well for your work earlier at the Korean Misplaced Pages. I'm curious to know how you got sysop rights though - neither of the local bureaucrats gave them to you and there aren't any recent steward records involving you at the Japanese Misplaced Pages either. Yuyudevil 09:52, 8 March 2006 (UTC)
I requested it on IRC and while there were no active stewards, I think that a developer was able to do it. Naconkantari e|t||c|m 12:47, 8 March 2006 (UTC)

Reversion mystery.

I was wondering why you reverted this comment; the Introduction page is like a sandbox, and the only reason to revert is if somebody fiddles with the first line or puts in profanity. Of course, you know this; I was just wondering if I'm missing out though. -M P 00:55, 9 March 2006 (UTC)

Sorry about that, I must not have noticed it was in the sandbox area. I have contacted the user and told them that I made a mistake. Naconkantari e|t||c|m 01:37, 9 March 2006 (UTC)
Naw, don't worry about it. Very good move contacting the editor, though; letting them know that there was a mistake made is vital, or we might start acidentally scaring people off. --M P 01:49, 9 March 2006 (UTC)

Electrolysis of Water

I appreciate your placement of the warnings of electrolysis, but I must ask you a question. "Also remember to never try electrolysis on salt (NaCl - Sodium Chloride) because it breaks down into the metal element sodium which is explosive in water and chlorine which is a greenish poisouous gas. Both of these elements could kill you if used in the wrong way." Are you assuming that people are going to be able to directly electrolysize molten salt in their homes, or are you refering to a solution of NaCl? If it is a solution, I know that it is impossible for solid sodium to appear. The sodium ion "reacts" with the water to directly form NaOH. Just trying to clarify the statement. --Chris 02:49, 12 March 2006 (UTC)

User:L00ser

Hi, I have noticed you reverting vandalism on Anglican Church Grammar School by this user. I suspect he may be the same person as User:149.167.107.124 who was given a final warning yesterday by me after vandalism on the same article. They also tend to remove or change warnings in their profiles. Both users entire contribution history is vandalism. As a newish editor myself I have no idea what action to take or who to pass this on to, but as I noticed you editing both these users I thought I would put the question here. Thanks. Congratulations! It's my pleasure to let you know that, consensus being reached, you are now an administrator. You should read the relevant policies and other pages linked to from the administrators' reading list before carrying out tasks like deletion, protection, banning users, and editing protected pages such as the Main Page. Most of what you do is easily reversible by other sysops, apart from page history merges and image deletion, so please be especially careful with those. You might find the new administrators' how-to guide helpful. Cheers! -- Francs2000 21:21, 12 March 2006 (UTC)

Odd creature, that one. How long was the block? I figure this is an IP editor who has been and will be dribbling nonsense for some time to come. After all, under that account name, I never had anything to do with him/it, so his vandalism of my page was probably due to my having either reverted porn link addition or CSD clearing lately. Checking previous edit when reverting vandalism

Hi, thanks for your efforts in combating vandalism. When you revert an obvious vandal, you might want to check the immediately preceding edit as well, even if it was from a different user. Many vandals now use a two-pronged approach, two vandalisms from different user names, in the hope that the earlier one survives. See . Cheers, AxelBoldt 01:10, 14 March 2006 (UTC)

Reporting a vandal

Hey

I didn't know where else to report this, but I seem ot have been having trouble with a user named Deathrocker who seems to love editing the "Selling out" article copiously and without any kind of consideration for neutral point in view. In fact, anytime I add an "NPOV" flag or "Weasel Words" section, he actually deletes them without actually joining the discussion. Please see the discussion section under "violation of NPOV" and "Heavy Metal" for further details. A look at the history of that page would be a useful thing as well. If you feel that this doesn't concern you, then please simply disregard this message. Other than that, any support from another Wikipedian would be greatly appreciated.--Nargos 02:27, 14 March 2006 (UTC)

Congrats on becoming an admin! I was hoping you could help with something. In deletion review (and the deletion process for that matter) and article was deleted that I believe should not have been. User:Tony Sidaway agrees. The article was deleted for notability, but the person in question was mentioned in about a dozen different mainstream media articles, included a recent front page article in the New York Times.
