Sara Edwards is the co-presenter of BBC Wales' early evening news programme, BBC Wales Today. She was born in Wales but brought up and educated in London, where she studied at London University, graduating with honours in Medieval and Modern History.
Sara began her broadcasting career with Capital Radio in London, where she researched and co-wrote a drama documentary series on the history of London. She joined County Sound in Guildford to produce and present her own programme and contributed regular items to BBC Radio 4. She then moved on to HTV West, where she worked as a presenter for nine months before joining BBC Wales News.
She announced in January 2006 that she is expecting a child and is understood to be due to give birth around April 2006. The child's father is senior British Army officer, Major General Jonathon Riley (51).
