Removal of external links

On the other hand, I see that your only contribution so far has been the removal without any explanation of external links from some 50-55 articles. Before continuing with this it would be helpful if you would please explain now what your aim is, as many of the links removed seem to have at least some value. In any event please also see the page on WP:Edit summaries.HeartofaDog (talk) 12:40, 6 May 2010 (UTC)

Hello, I only delete SPAM, comercial sites and SEO-Links. On the German Misplaced Pages such sites were banned from then administrators. On this site: http://en.wikipedia.org/Rambin one user set his private site as the official site instead the rigt site. Not only on the english Misplaced Pages, it was on many versions of Misplaced Pages! MatthiasHuehr (talk) 12:58, 6 May 2010 (UTC)Matthias

Matthias, deleting links to SPAM, comercial sites and SEO-Links is very help. However, please indicate why you are deleting links using the Edit summary. This is helpful to other editors. --Dan Dassow (talk) 21:22, 6 May 2010 (UTC)

Hello Matthias, and thanks for your reply. If that is all that you are deleting, then it is indeed a good thing. But on, for example, Eldena Abbey, you have also taken out the official website of the town of Greifswald, and a useful/relevant webpage (although admittedly a bit amateurish) on the ruined monastery pictures of Caspar David Friedrich from the website of the Friends of Arnsburg Abbey: both of these are also on the German Misplaced Pages, and if you just stop and think about it, such sites are likely to be the closest thing to official websites for ruined monasteries, so please can you be more selective? And as per User:Dan Dassow, if you use Edit summaries it avoids creating the impression that you are vandalising. HeartofaDog (talk) 12:49, 7 May 2010 (UTC)

When there is no external link left after deletion, please also delete the headline. Thank you. Greets -- Niteshift (talk) 21:45, 7 May 2010 (UTC)
