I have just reported a high level of Vandalism at the page Television content rating systems. Is it possible to impose a temporary protection to the page? StormContent (talk) 14:43, 5 July 2011 (UTC)
Block of User:Jessica Darling for single edit
I really have to question your block of Jessica Darling (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · page moves · block user · block log) for a single edit at Church of the SubGenius. That edit removed a BLP violation which has been subsequently removed by other editors. It's possible that this user was the subject of the BLP violation. Certainly there is no justification for blocking an editor on the basis of a single edit which you deem to be vandalism even though it was addressing a legitimate BLP violation which is exempt from 3RR, even though there was no edit warring and you have previously edited the article involved. I suggest you unblock this user or I feel it will be necessary to bring the issue up on WP:AN/I for review. Looks like a misuse of admin tools from my viewpoint. Are there other (deleted) edits of which I am not aware? Some sockpuppetry suspected? What's your rationale here? Yworo (talk) 21:43, 8 August 2011 (UTC)
- As I stated when I blocked the user, I do have reason to suspect sock puppetry. Specifically, the username of "Jessica Darling" is used by a person who is affiliated with the Church of the SubGenius outside of Misplaced Pages , and who has unfortunately been involved with their internal politics and drama. I hate drama of this kind and prefer not to be involved with it. However, this "Jessica Darling" is not the person who edited the Misplaced Pages article on the Church of the SubGenius under this username. The person in question was promptly blamed for making the edit in question , but she denied doing so -- and her denial has been supported and agreed with by everyone involved in the discussion of this on her Facebook page . I have reason to believe this edit was done by another person, using her username of "Jessica Darling," though because this little drama is taking place outside of Misplaced Pages, I wouldn't expect Misplaced Pages's admins to have first-hand knowledge of this. -- Modemac (talk) 17:28, 9 August 2011 (UTC)
