The company began outsourcing manufacturing to China before it was common among other manufacturers in this field. By doing this, the company has managed to be a major player in the low cost segment of such equipment. Behringer has been able to provide products at a low cost in comparison to their competitors.
Behringer designs and manufactures a line of audio products for musicians and sound engineers. Their products include mixing consoles, analog and digital signal processors, guitar amplifiers, studio reference monitors, microphones, MIDI controllers and public address enclosures.
While loved by many for the low price point of their products, these products are considered by some to be of sub-par quality by the professional audio world, although it's open to debate whether this opinion is due to snobbery brought about by the low outlay cost and general perception of Behringer as a budget brand, even though many of the larger, more famous (and more expensive) brands have taken to outsourcing manufacturing, but are less transparent about doing so.
