Discovery Kids broadcasts a Saturday morning programming lineup for children called Discovery Kids on NBC, which began running in September of 2002. Its Canadian equivalent is operated in partnership with Corus Entertainment.
In 2002, Discovery Kids began airing a reality television show entitled Endurance. The show is similar in nature to Survivor, whereby teams compete in exotic locales (such as Hawaii and Tehachapi) and, as of 2005, is in its fourth season.
In the United Kingdom the channel initially began broadcasting exclusively on the On Digital service time sharing with Discovery Wings; the channel eventually became available on other digital platforms such as Sky Digital.
NBC recently announced it will not continue the Partnership with Discovery Kids after the Fall of 2006. It has not been announced what NBC will fill in the Saturday Morning time slot, though FCC rules mandating 3 hours of educational programming a week will forbid NBC from placing anything other then Children's Programs in that time slot.
