The Journal of Conflict Resolution is a peer-reviewed academic journal that publishes scholarly articles and book reviews dealing with international conflict and conflict resolution. Its scope is similar to that of the Journal of Peace Research. Founded in 1957, it is currently edited by Paul Huth of the University of Maryland.
Its Managing Editor from 1963 to 1972 was a former singer/songwriter Connie Converse.
Scope
Journal of Conflict Resolution aims to provide scholars and researchers with the latest studies and theories on the causes of and solutions to the human conflict. The journal primarily focuses on international conflict but also covers national, intergroup and interpersonal conflicts that may help in understanding problems of war and peace.
Abstracting and indexing
Journal of Conflict Resolution is abstracted and indexed in, among other databases: SCOPUS, and the Social Sciences Citation Index. According to the Journal Citation Reports, its 2010 impact factor is 1.883, ranking it 8 out of 39 journals in the category ‘Political Science’. and 7 out of 73 journals in the category ‘International Relations’.
