The car was built to meet new sportscar racing regulations imposed by the FIA from 1991. As with all cars built to these new rules the TS010 featured a purpose-built 3500cc naturally aspirated engine (similar to contemporary Formula 1 engines) and had weight limit of 750Kg (compared to 900Kg for cars built to the previous Group C regulations). The car raced throughout the 1992 World Sportscar Championship and 1992 & 1993 Le Mans 24 Hours. It's only victory was in the opening race of the 1992 season.
