God Emperor of Dune is a Science Fiction novel by Frank Herbert, fourth in a series of six novels.

3,500 years have passed since Paul Atreides became the messiah of the Fremen and the Empereror of the universe. His son, Leto, seeing more clearly than his father, accepted the mantle of godhead from the Fremen, and transformed himself into a monster of the desert, a sandworm, that has ruled Dune for millennia. Leto's Golden Path, that course in the future in which humanity's survival is guaranteed, is almost certain now, and Leto has started looking for a way out.
