Summary

The story begins in November. Greg Heffley, a 13 year old middle school kid is nervous about Christmas. He thinks that if you make a mistake in the month of Christmas, you'll get less presents or none at all. Things get bad when Greg becomes the prime suspect for vandalizing the school. Greg needs sometime to think and luckily there was a blizzard that got him and his family trapped. During the blizzard, Greg describes that stuck inside a house with your family is a disaster. But in a Christmas miracle, the blizzard is gone and they are lucky enough to celebrate Christmas. The story uses past flashbacks.

Creation

Kinney was trapped inside his house in New England during a blizzard that happened in January of 2011. He stated that for three long months, the snow piled up and his new dog he had got before the blizzard happened had an only knowledge of a tunnel that was dug on the piled-up snow to 'supposedly' relieve himself.(He said that the dog relieved in the heated family room of Kinney's home)
