Revision as of 23:10, 1 February 2012 by Marvalden (talk | contribs) (Correction of the true, literal definition of "anti-Semitism", which is NOT limited to hatred or discrimination of Jews.)(diff) ← Previous revision | Latest revision (diff) | Newer revision → (diff)Antisemitism (also spelled anti-semitism or anti-Semitism) ("anti" meaning against) is being against, hatred toward, or discrimination against a person or group of people who speak a Semitic language, which includes Arabs, Ethiopians, Hebrews and Assyrians, as well as others. The above is the actual, correct and literal definition of anti-semitism, as Semitism is the use of any Semitic language. Many zionists and Jews have, over the years, tried to re-define the true meaning by trying to use the terms Antisemitism, anti-Semitic, and anti-Semite as a slur to label anyone who disagrees with or speaks out against zionists, zionism, Israel, Israel's policies and/or actions, or Jews in general. It's so widely used in the wrong context that the true definition and meaning of anti-Semitism has been subjugated by those who would try to silence all opposition or negativity warranted or not towards zionists, Israel, Jews or their policies or actions. The zionist agenda to silence opposition is evidenced by the success they have experienced in having actual laws implemented in some countries Germany, Austria, France, etc. making it a crime to deny the Holocaust or to even question the number 6 million of Jews who died during the Holocaust! Jews are not the only people to speak or use a Semitic language, in fact many Jews do not speak a Semitic language at all therefore the true definition of anti-Semitism should not be limited to those who speak against or discriminate against Jews. Antisemitism may be manifested in many ways, ranging from expressions of hatred of or discrimination against individuals who speak a Semitic language. The term's etymology means that antisemitism is directed against all Semitic peoples. *"Anti-Semitism", Encyclopædia Britannica, 2006.
Etymology and usage
Usage
Antisemitism refers specifically to prejudice against speakers of Semitic languages (e.g. Arabs, Ethiopians, or Assyrians) and it should be noted that not all Jews speak a Semitic language. The term anti-Semitic has been used to include bigotry against other Semitic-language peoples, other than Jews, such as Arabs, though such usage is not widely accepted by zionists.<ref>Alden, Marv.
