Overview

Atlas Shrugged: Part 2 is a forthcoming film based on the novel Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand. It is intended to serve as a sequel to the movie Atlas Shrugged: Part 1, and will pick up the story line where the predecessor movie left off. The producers of the film have created a website, which invites users to leave messages in a forum. However information about the film is sparse at this time.

Background

After the box office failure of Atlas Shrugged: Part 1, there was some doubt as to whether or not any more of the proposed trilogy would be put into production. However, the production company of the film has announced that production will begin on the film this April, and a release is scheduled for around the election season this fall.

Duncan Scott, who in 1986 was responsible for creating a new, re-edited version with English subtitles of the 1937 Italian film adpatation of We the Living has been announced as joining the production team and it is rumored that Part 2 will have an all new cast.

Confirmed Details

Atlas Shrugged: Part 2 will have a larger budget than its predecessor, and the production company has currently raised much of the $25 million they hoped to raise. Producers of the film have released a teaser trailer which features contemporary commentators commending the prescience of Rand's works, and snippets of interviews with Ayn Rand, the author of Atlas Shrugged, herself.
