talkSPORT is a national commercial sports radio station based in London broadcasting to the United Kingdom. It has been known by its current name since January 2000, but was previously known as Talk Radio and before that Talk Radio UK from its launch in 14 February 1995. At the start it wasn't a sports station, but a station that covered all kinds of talk (news, current affairs, phone ins, etc.). At launch they used the slogan "The BBC are saying goodbye to listeners everywhere. Goodbye", however, Talk itself suffered the lowest listening figures of any national station.
It broadcasts as an AM station on the 1053 kHz and 1089 kHz frequencies, also digitally via DAB (Great Britain only) and various Digital TV platforms.
