Souguide Deletion

Hello Jim, We were in the process of creating an unbiased and "non-advertisting" wiki page for Souguide and were notified that you had deleted the page because of "CSD A7. No indication of importance (individuals, animals, organizations, web content)." Souguide is the first location-based social networking service created in Hong Kong serving the local market. It is the first app that offers UI in both English and traditional Chinese characters so that users from Hong Kong, Taiwan and China can use the service in their native language. If similar services such as Skout, Talkbox Voice Messanger (talkboxapp) and WhatsApp can exist as their independent pages on Wiki, can you let us know why Souguide is "less important" than its peers? As a pioneer in this field of service in South East Asia, I do not think its significance is any less than its bigger-famed peers that are more commercially driven. Please let us know your thoughts. Steiner House

You deleted Steiner House while I was in the process of editing it. Your rationale was that the article did not make a credible assertion of notability. This is a building designed by a major Austrian architect (Adolf Loos) that was supported by citations in at least three different publications that provided analysis of the design. That sounds notable to me. I have cleaned up the article and properly formatted the references. Can you undelete the page so that my edits then appear as a modification to the original authors, for proper attribution? WikiDan61ReadMe!! 12:09, 30 March 2012 (UTC)

Thanks for your reply. I know that the bot will automatically restore the CSD tag. And I have seen many similar cases in which, the author completly writes in non-en language. They want to contribute but are not aware of the fact that this is en-wiki not arabic-wiki. Anyways, keep up the good work and Happy editing! Yasht101 :) 02:47, 1 April 2012 (UTC)

Hi, I have changed an old photo from my band‘s page and add a new album (2012) that we launched tomorrow. And surprise! The page was deleted!! Please delete any phrase that you find subjective or offensive or wrong (I am shure you will not find such thing) but why delete the whole page? Araçari

- I went to the talk pages first to propose the change, and nobody objected.

- In linguistic terms, the spelling should indeed be araçari in order to yield the correct pronunciation /arasari/.

- Aracari is linguistically non-standard spelling in English, since it yields the incorrect pronunciation /arakari/.

- In order for people to be able to pronounce a word correctly, they need to have the information that makes that possible.

- Araçari is not Spanish. In Spanish the spelling is Arasarí.

- Garrigues and Dean use the spelling with the cedilla.

- I checked the purple project box before making any change. The title there is araçari. That led me to believe that it was inability to type accents rather than policy that had led to the spelling without the accent in the articles in question.

- An assumption of good faith on my part, and talking to me before simply reverting would have been nice.
