Israeli–Palestinian conflict:
- Three quarters of the Palestinian inmates held in Israeli jails go on hunger strike on the Palestinian "Prisoners' Day". Thousands of people rally in towns and cities in both the West Bank and the Gaza Strip in support of their action, waving Palestinian flags and displaying photos of imprisoned relatives. (Al Jazeera)
- Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu is handed a letter detailing what Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas would like for restarting peace talks after previous negotiations on a two-state solution stalled due to the building of Israeli settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem. South Sudan–Sudan border conflict:
