Doğan Türkmen is a former Turkish diplomat.

He served in Lagos as ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Nigeria from January 28, 1969, to December 16, 1971.

On February 6, 1980, while serving as ambassador to Switzerland in Bern, he was targeted by the Armenian terrorist organization JCAG. He was shot at, but escaped with minor wounds. An Armenian named Max Klindjian, was subsequently arrested in Marseilles, France and returned to Switzerland for trial; he was sentenced as an accessory to two years of prison. The JCAG claimed credit for the attack.
